Worth It?

About Worth It?

One honest answer to a stressful question: is this car a smart buy for you?

Car sites show you a monthly payment or a table of costs and leave the judgment to you. Worth It? does the opposite: it looks at the car, your income, your loan and what the car really costs to own, and gives you one score from 0 to 100 with a plain verdict.

How it works

You answer six quick questions. The score is calculated in your browser using public averages for your state: sales tax, registration, insurance, fuel and electricity prices, plus typical maintenance and resale value for the car. The full formula is on the How we score page, so you can check every number.

What it isn't

It's an educational estimate, not financial advice. It doesn't know a specific car's trim, mileage or condition, so it can't tell you whether a particular listing is a good price. Real insurance quotes and loan rates can differ a lot from the averages we use, and you can change any of them on the results page.

How the site is paid for

Worth It? is free to use. It may show ads, and in the future it may include clearly labeled links to services like insurance quotes. Ads and links never change a car's score.
